SF Sports Angle Guide 85°
Precision aluminium side-edge guide with ball-bearing contact for a stable, repeatable 85° side-edge setup.
Technical setup
Application & selection
Prepare the side wall before filing
Make sure the file can reach the steel edge without rubbing on side-wall material. Keep the guide flat, use controlled strokes and stop once the edge geometry is clean and continuous.
SF Sports recommendation
Choose the angle for the intended ski setup
85° is a very direct setup aimed at high edge bite. For less aggressive tuning, the SF Sports 87° and 88° angle guides are also available.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does 85° mean?
It is the side-edge angle guided by the tool during filing.
Who is an 85° angle suitable for?
For experienced tuners and race-oriented setups that require strong edge bite.
Why does the guide use ball bearings?
They help the guide move smoothly over the ski and reduce direct sliding contact with the base.
Should the side wall be removed first?
Yes, if side-wall material prevents the file from contacting the steel edge cleanly.
Can the SF Sports side-wall planer be mounted on it?
Yes, the system is designed to work together.
Does the angle guide replace diamond finishing?
No. The file establishes geometry; diamond tools refine and polish afterwards.
Are other angles available?
Yes, SF Sports also offers 87° and 88° versions in the current shop.
