Pressure points
Pain around the ankle, instep, forefoot or shin is often caused by a shell that does not match the foot or by local pressure points.
Boot fitting near Munich · Gilching · SF Sports
Pressure points, cold feet, numb toes or not enough control on the ski? At SF Sports in Gilching, we adjust ski boots to your foot, skiing style and intended use – for more comfort, better heel hold and more direct power transfer.

The ski boot has to fit
A ski boot should feel close and precise – but it should never block you. Pain, cold feet or a lack of control are often caused by the wrong size, an unsuitable shell, missing support in the footbed or pressure points in the shell and liner.
In boot fitting, we do not only look at the boot. We analyze foot shape, stance, mobility, skiing level and your goal. Only then do we decide whether an insole, shell adjustment, liner work or a different ski boot makes sense.

Typical problems
Boot fitting is not only for racers. Recreational skiers, athletic piste skiers and ski tourers also benefit from a boot that truly matches the foot.
Pain around the ankle, instep, forefoot or shin is often caused by a shell that does not match the foot or by local pressure points.
Too much pressure, poor circulation or the wrong foot position can make feet cold or numb quickly.
When the heel moves inside the boot, precision is lost. The ski reacts later and control decreases.
A badly fitting boot wastes energy. A precise setup creates a more direct connection to the ski.

Who it is for
A well-adjusted boot helps every skier – from comfort-oriented holiday skiers to racers who need maximum precision.
Fewer pressure points, warmer feet and more comfort on long ski days.
Better hold, more direct turn initiation and a more stable position in the boot.
Race fit, heel hold, canting, lifters and power transfer for training and competition.
Custom insoles for skiing, biking, running, skating and ski touring.
Process
We work step by step: first analysis, then decision, then adjustment. This avoids unnecessary work and leads to a solution that actually works.
01We measure and analyze foot shape, width, arch, stance and individual requirements.
02We inspect the shell, liner, pressure points, heel hold and overall fit in detail.
03If it makes sense, we build a custom sport insole for better stability and pressure distribution.
04Pressure points are addressed precisely – for example by heating, stretching, punching or grinding.
05Depending on the need, we work on the liner, mold it or check whether a foam liner is the right solution.
06At the end, we check fit, feel and function again and make small refinements if needed.

Race boot / race setup
Race setup is not just about comfort. It is about precision: heel hold, shell contact, canting, lifters, stance position and power transfer all have to work together.
For racers, junior athletes and athletic skiers, we match the boot to foot, leg axis, intended use and performance requirements.
SIDAS sport insoles
A good insole stabilizes the foot, improves pressure distribution and helps you stand more precisely in the shoe. This matters not only in ski boots, but also for biking, running, skating and ski touring.
For long days, sensitive feet or athletic performance goals, a custom sport insole can make a clear difference: more stability, less fatigue and a more controlled feeling.

Existing ski boots
We can inspect and, where technically sensible, adjust existing ski boots. Honest assessment is important: not every boot can be saved perfectly, but many pressure points and fit issues can be improved precisely.
For adjusting existing ski boots, we charge 120 € per hour plus required material.
Preparation
The better we understand your starting point, the more precisely we can advise and adjust.
Please bring the ski socks you normally wear. Socks influence fit, volume and pressure feel.
If you want existing boots adjusted, please bring both ski boots.
Bring sport or orthopedic insoles so we can judge whether they work well in the ski boot.
For bike, running, skating or ski touring insoles, bring the shoe in which the insole will be used.
Why SF Sports?
Every foot is different, every ski boot fits differently and every skier has different goals. That is why we do not work by a fixed template. We check which adjustment really makes sense.
We combine boot fitting, race experience, ski boot advice, insoles, shell work and material knowledge. The result is a setup that does not only feel good in the shop, but works on snow.

Working with Franz over the last few years has shown me just how important every detail in a ski boot really is. I’ve learned that even the smallest adjustment can have a huge impact on performance, and that a difference of just 0.5 degrees can be the deciding factor between success and disappointment in one of the most important races of the season. What sets Franz apart is his incredible attention to detail, technical expertise, and passion for helping athletes perform at their best. I am truly grateful for the knowledge and experience I have gained through working with him. Even today, I continue to learn something new from Franz, and that ongoing process has been invaluable to my development as an athlete.
