Race service is precision work. We first inspect your ski, then prepare base, sidewall and edge cleanly and match structure and finish to your use case.
01Inspect the ski
We check whether the ski is flat, how the base edge is set and which service scope is really required.
02Base repair
Scratches, grooves and smaller damage are repaired cleanly so the base is closed and even again.
03Prepare the sidewall
The sidewall is professionally set back so the side edge can be worked precisely along the full ski length.
04Pre-grind and flatten
The ski is prepared and flattened accurately before structure and edge work.
05Race NC structure grind
On request, your ski receives a particularly precise and reproducible structure on the Wintersteiger Race NC.

Our standard recommendation for technical disciplines
For slalom and giant slalom, we often work with 0.5° on the base side and 87° on the side edge. On request, we adjust the angles individually to skier, ski, discipline and use case.

A fast race ski is not created by edges and structure alone. The wax finish also has to be built up, scraped and brushed correctly.
For the race finish, we match the wax to discipline and conditions. The base is then brushed carefully so the structure runs free and the ski can glide at maximum efficiency on snow.
