LEKI 4Race Junior Shin Guard

LEKI 4Race Junior Shin Guard complements your equipment for gate training. When choosing, focus on where the shell sits on your body and whether it stays in position through typical movements. Junior indicates an adapted version, not a promise that it fits every child. Try it with the clothing and equipment you actually wear on the course.

Coverage before size alone

The shell must cover the intended area without pressing into joints or adjacent equipment. Pay particular attention to the boot interface and knee mobility. A shell that is too long can interfere with flexing.

Test stability with the right clothing

Trying it over everyday clothes tells you only so much. Wear your race suit or a comparable layer and adjust the fastening so the shell does not move. Excessive tightening is not a good solution for an unsuitable shape.

Understand the limits of use realistically

A guard for gate contact does not provide complete protection in falls or collisions. Inspect the shell and attachment regularly. Deep cracks, severe deformation or torn-out fastenings need assessment before the next use.

Who is LEKI 4Race Junior Shin Guard right for?

Our recommendation: compare the 33 cm length against the actual leg and test in a bent position with ski boots. Do not buy oversized for future growth.

Use & selection

Before the run: Check position and fastening and try your typical racing movements.

After training: Remove snow and dirt and let the item dry. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions.

After growth or new equipment: Recheck fit; new gloves or boots can change the interfaces.

Questions before you buy

Is this a back protector?

No. This product covers the shin for the intended gate contact.

How do I check the fit?

Try it with race clothing and adjacent equipment and perform all typical movements.

What length or adjustment does this version have?

The junior guard is 33 cm long.

May the shell press against the knee or elbow?

No. Joints should remain freely mobile even in a bent race stance.

Can I test it over any clothing?

For a reliable fitting, wear the race clothing you actually use.

Should I check it after a hard impact?

Yes. Inspect shell and fastening for cracks, deformation and loose areas.

Is more coverage always better?

Only if it fits correctly. An oversized shell can restrict movement or hit adjacent equipment.
