HEAD WCR e-GS Rebel Pro: race precision for sweeping turns

The HEAD WCR e-GS Rebel Pro is designed for skiers who deliberately engage the edges and actively load a giant-slalom ski. It combines race-ski construction with less uncompromising geometry than the WCR e-GS Rebel FIS: an interesting option for Masters training and fast, sweeping turns on suitably clear slopes.

Race construction rather than a comfort-focused setup

The sandwich construction suits an active skiing style. Skiers who edge and load the ski with control are looking for precise guidance. For relaxed skidding or short, spontaneous changes of direction, a versatile piste ski is the more sensible choice.

EMC: damping that complements technique

HEAD uses EMC to reduce unwanted vibrations. The technology supports stability but cannot replace the right length or a properly prepared ski. With a race setup in particular, edges, base and skier need to work together.

Masters geometry with a clear GS focus

A 68 mm waist and radii from 22 to 28 m do not make the Pro a slalom ski. Its geometry is more accessible than the FIS model’s, while the focus remains firmly on large turns. If you need a ski for narrow, crowded pistes, choose another category.

Who is HEAD WCR e-GS Rebel Pro right for?

Our recommendation: choose the Pro if you are already confident on your edges and want to work specifically on line, pressure build-up and long-radius turns. Height alone is not enough to choose a length: body weight, technique, speed and course setting also matter. Between two lengths, the better choice is the one you can load with control throughout a full training day—not automatically the longest.

Choose the binding carefully: The shop offers versions without bindings and with Freeflex ST 14X, ST 16, ST 16X and ST 20 RD. A higher number is not a general recommendation: the required adjustment range, exact boot sole and intended use are what matter. Please discuss the selected set with us before mounting.

Edge preparation is part of the setup: An aggressive edge can grip precisely but also requires clean guidance. Our race service tailors preparation to your training, snow conditions and ability. Please specify any individual edge-angle requests before work begins.

Questions before you buy

Is the Pro a FIS giant-slalom ski?

The Pro is the Masters-oriented model and is not identical to the WCR e-GS Rebel FIS. Whether a particular length is permitted in your competition must be checked against the applicable event rules and class.

Which length suits me?

Base your choice on technique, weight and use. At 177 cm and 22 m, the shortest version has the smallest radius in this range; 191 cm with 28 m requires correspondingly more space. To recommend a length, we also need to know your current ski and training focus.

Is it suitable for normal piste skiing?

Yes, for technically strong skiers on suitable, clear slopes. As an uncomplicated all-day ski for changing turn rhythms, it is considerably more specialised than a sporty all-rounder.

How does it differ from the FIS model?

Primarily in its Masters geometry: a wider waist and smaller radii, while retaining dedicated race-ski construction. This makes it easier to tailor the ski to individual lines, but does not turn it into a beginner’s ski.

Does every variant include a binding?

No. The “without” option does not include a binding. With a set, the selected binding is what counts; the image alone does not reliably identify the chosen configuration.

Can I use my GripWalk boots?

That depends on the exact binding version. Please have the sole marking and complete binding name checked together; “Freeflex” alone does not confirm GripWalk compatibility.

Should the ski be prepared before the first training session?

A check of the edges and base tailored to your needs is worthwhile. Discuss snow conditions, intended use and desired preparation with us before any material is removed.
