Freeflex: room for ski flex
The heel can move back as the ski bends, reducing the binding’s influence on the natural flex of the ski.
The HEAD Freeflex 11 Race ski binding offers a 3–11 range and an NX heel with a wider heel rail. It is aimed particularly at suitable junior race setups; the boot sole standard remains essential. Its Freeflex system reduces the binding’s influence on ski flex, an important part of a matched performance setup.

HEAD Freeflex 11 Race
For junior racers and skiers with suitable 3–11 settings and Alpine Type A soles.
The heel can move back as the ski bends, reducing the binding’s influence on the natural flex of the ski.
The lower adjustment range helps with selection but does not confirm compatibility with children’s soles. Boot standard and the full setup require separate checks.
Ski, plate, binding and boot must work together. Before purchase, we check the existing plate and the boot sole length.
The Freeflex 11 Race combines an RX toe with TRP system and an NX heel. Freeflex reduces the binding’s restriction of ski flex. For juniors, the race-ski setup and lower adjustment range are particularly relevant. The benefit is appropriately matched equipment on which young skiers can work on turn development and line choice.
Our recommendation: junior racers and lighter adults whose individually determined setting is between 3 and 11 and who use Alpine Type A soles. Body weight alone is not sufficient to choose a binding. We pay particular attention to sole markings for young skiers. A lower DIN range does not make this binding compatible with Type C children’s soles.
For regular race training, choose a binding whose construction suits your race plate and the response you want. For relaxed piste skiing, a compatible recreational binding may be the more sensible choice. A race binding earns its place as part of a matched system; a higher price or adjustment range does not automatically produce more edge grip.
For a race setup, we prioritise the right heel response, ski-flex function and plate compatibility over the lowest possible weight. Compare weights only for matching versions, and check whether a figure refers to one binding or a pair. Lower weight does not automatically mean greater precision, and higher weight does not automatically mean greater stability.
For advice, bring the exact ski model, plate details and your ski boots. We match these to your intended use. The model number is not your personal release setting and does not replace determining that setting or testing the system.
Have a specialist workshop mount the binding, match it to the sole length, set it and test it with your boot. A change of boots requires a fresh check of the combination. Keep contact surfaces clean and have unusual play or damaged parts inspected. For binding advice, bring your skis and both boots, and discuss the required work with us in advance.

This model is intended for Alpine soles complying with ISO 5355 Type A, not GripWalk or Type C children’s soles. Check the marking on the actual boot and have the combination checked by a workshop.

The version offered has an 85 mm brake. We check compatibility with your ski and mounting plate using the exact setup. Brake width alone does not confirm full compatibility.
No. The 3–11 range describes the binding’s adjustment options. A specialist workshop must determine your personal setting and check the function with your boots.
