Brushes for the perfect finish

For perfect base structure and maximum speed, the right brushes are crucial. Whether steel or brass, natural hair or synthetic – each brush has its specific purpose. Here, we have clearly summarized the different brushes for you. We explain in detail which brushes we use for what in our blog.

Before brushing and finishing, we need to scrape the skis. For this, you will need scrapers, a blade sharpener, and – depending on your needs – sandpaper to cleanly remove any burrs from grinding on the scraper. This will ensure a consistent result and the base will be perfectly prepared for the next steps.

Steel and brass brushes

For the first step, you'll need relatively hard brushes. They are perfect for cleaning the ski after skiing and removing dirt from the base structure – or as the first brush after scraping, to free up the base structure again. This way, the base is optimally prepared for further brushing and waxing steps.

Natural bristle brushes

Natural hair brushes, such as Tampico or horsehair, are excellent for exposing the base structure and then brushing the surface smooth. This leaves the base clean, even, and optimally prepared – for noticeably better gliding and more speed on the slopes. These brushes are available as hand or roto brushes.

Finishing brushes

Finishing brushes are the final touch when you want to get the last hundredths of a second out of your skis. They polish the base surface, making it extra smooth, thus maximizing the effect of your wax – for noticeably more speed and perfect gliding.
