Very cold waxes require higher iron temperatures and a good iron with a precise thermostat. They must be used with caution to avoid heat damage to the base. To eliminate the risk of base damage from excessive heat, Psycho waxes are also available in paste form. While PSYCHO paste waxes are less durable than the hot wax versions, they are easier to apply and their application poses no risk to the base.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePsycho waxes can be used alone within their temperature range or only near the edge at higher snow temperatures to protect the base near the edge when the snow is very aggressive.
